Looking the part!
The story behind our kit

Every Morris side has its own unique look. Our three kits complement each other beautifully.

Our first dancers’ kit includes a waistcoat with sheep buttons – because who wouldn’t want to wear a few fluffy friends? Members are encouraged to jazz up their waistcoats with badges the side has created or badges collected from other sides. Under the waistcoat a white blouse is worn.

The skirt is a symphony of bells and ribbons that shimmy and shake with every dance move. Warning: may cause sudden outbreaks of spontaneous jingling! Finally, black tights and shoes that are as comfy as your favourite pair of slippers, but with bells on them to ensure you jingle all the way.

Our second dancers’ kit comes with a crisp white shirt and a stylish green baldrick – yes, a baldrick! Because why settle for a regular sash when you can rock a ‘baldrick’? The best part? You can jazz it up with badges, because nothing says “I’m here to dance” like a personalised piece of fabric! For the trousers, we’ve got 3/4 length breeks because full-length trousers are so overrated. And yes, they are accompanied by bell pads and ribbons, so you’ll not only look good but make some noise as well! Our socks are yellow and green reflecting the colours of the sun and the Marsh on a warm sunny day. One is yellow, the other is green to help us remember our left from our right. To top it off, black shoes that are simple, classic and perfect for dancing like no one’s watching (but trust us, everyone is watching, especially with all those bells ringing).

Both dancers’ kits are completed with a smart, ribbon adorned, classic black hat.

Our amazing musicians will be donning the timeless combo: black trousers and crisp white shirts or blouses. They’ll all be wearing unique waistcoats – but here’s where the fun begins! Each waistcoat is a blank canvas for decoration, and when it comes to badges, the motto is: the more, the merrier! Whether they’re homemade, swapped with fellow dancers, or proudly earned on tour, those badges are worn with flair and a good dose of jingle.

The neckerchief (yes, that’s right, neck + hankie) is worn around the neck for all kits and is tied at the front. This helps make every dancer and musician look ‘uniquely’ fabulous!
